NEW Wood – NEW colors!!
Alaska Rod’s knife handles are made of Webbwood and Frogwood. The beautiful finish is the result of extensive hand sanding and buffing–there is no varnish!
Layers of birch are heat and pressure treated with epoxy to make a laminated wood that is compressed to half its original thickness and is three times harder than the natural wood. This wood is so hard that Rod uses blades designed to cut metal to cut the wood. Rod crafts each knife handle one at a time so that it fits nicely in your hand. Since there is no varnish on the handles, any future scratches can be sanded out and buffed to look new again.
We are happy to take custom orders — Rod will take the color of your choice and put it on the blade you select.
